The theme elementary gaining ground in the world and the open design of pidgin is outdated and not integrated into the desktop 2010. For this reason, assuming that the buddy list could look like the graphic gloobus I started working. After identifying the exact gradients gloobus or thought to integrate the elementary colors. As you can see the list in the screenshot looks clean but even more amazing are the notifications. I worked hard, adding gradients up to a very sexy subject! In a few days to release the skin, yet I see if there is anyone interested in public!
Update:
Good evening everyone, today we are trying to freshen up the look of pidgin written in python using the screenlets from meek, with minor modification. I will try to explain step by step how to get good integration with the Desktop Environment. The first step, surely, is to install the screenlets manager (the one maintained in the Ubuntu repositories is fine):
sudo apt-get install screenlets
After all packages will be downloaded and installation is complete, we must create a folder inside our home:
mkdir ~ /. screenlets
Download the archive from the link above and unzip everything in the directory you just created. Start the screenlets manager (Applications → Accessories → Screenlets), look for Pidgin and activate it (you can choose to start at login not to repeat this step for each system startup). Start the screenlets manager (Applications → Accessories → Screenlets), look for Pidgin and activate it (you can choose to start at login not to repeat this step for each system startup). The elementary theme should be on from the first run, if not you can select the menu screenlet. Last trick, I used, you may activate the plugin pidgin buddy list, select options and hide the buddy list When it is created.
the content.png in folder status is a linked file to a file in /home/m7p/... and that causes the screenlet to not start anymore... i have "fixed" it temporarily by copying the content.png from another theme...perhaps you could provide the conten.png or repack it? nevertheless i love this theme! keep up yout good work! best regards
I just to work to an update version of this theme. The next release will include only the theme and the original screenlets will be downloaded from screenlets site, so I think that this issue will be solved.
PS: the new version will contain some new icons and a mini tutorial for add a blur effect to the screenlets.
hmmm i think there is a problem with file "~/.screenlets/Pidgin/themes/elementary/status/content.png". i see info: No such file or directory i think that there is a problem with a PNG image, its broken or something like that. it would be nice if you fix it
it looks so pretty that i want to have it on my desktop
for me, this only works with the standard screenlet files (not your modded ones). Anyway, looks pretty neat but this screenlet simply stays unusable as long as one cannot indivually move the groups and until there is no metacontact-support.
